Practice-Based Research Networks (PBRNs) are groups of primary care clinicians and practices partnered with research entities who work together to answer community-based healthcare questions and translate research findings into meaningful everyday practice. The West Virginia Practice-Based Research Network was established in 2013 and led by the Community Engagement Core of the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI), whose goal is to foster the growth of research from the laboratory to clinical practice in West Virginia.

The mission of the WVPBRN is to improve the health of West Virginians by collaborating with primary care practices to conduct translational practice-based research.
