WVCTSI Service Requests

WVCTSI has implemented a new service request system, Piestar, which now links with our membership database and evaluation/reporting platform, to streamline the user experience. 

*You must be a WVCTSI member to request services. If you have not signed up for membership, please do so here.*

Service Request Instructions 

  • Click on the WVCTSI Service Requests button above, which will open the Piestar portal.
  • If you are a WVCTSI member, an account has already been created for you using your primary e-mail address.
  • After entering the e-mail address and clicking “Next,” you will be asked to create a password if this is your first time logging in to the new request system.
    • If you receive an error message, this is likely because you are either not a member or are entering an incorrect e-mail address. Contact our support team members (below) for assistance.
  • Once signed in, select the form that corresponds with your desired service type.
    • Because some services are managed outside of Piestar (clinical trials use OnCore and WRAP, for example), a general request option is available for those areas along with introductory overviews with our Research Services Manager.
  • As you complete the request form, please use the e-mail address you used when you created your WVCTSI membership profile*
  • Click submit when you have completed the request form and a staff member will be in touch.

*If you signed up as a WVCTSI member before December 2025, your membership has been rolled over to Piestar. Simply use the e-mail address you used when you signed up as a WVCTSI member to create your Piestar user account. If you need to confirm what e-mail address you used upon sign up, please contact our support team members noted below.

 

NOTE: Service update e-mails sent from the system will come from “Piestar Support Team.” Please check to ensure these e-mails are going to your inbox and not your spam or junk folders.

Important Reminder: Be sure to follow all Information Security and HIPAA Policies when submitting service requests, particularly those related to clinical data needs. 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are all WVCTSI services processed through Piestar? Services can initially be requested through Piestar but not all will be thoroughly processed through the platform. Some services use other platforms that are more well-suited for that activitiy. For instance, the Lab Technologies Core will continue to use iLab, and Clinical Trials will use WRAP and OnCore. 

2. Is WVU moving away from iLab? No. WVCTSI is only making the transition for several of it's services and resources.

3. I'm not sure which e-mail address I used when I signed up as a WVCTSI member. How do I check? Contact Meg Hardman or Holly Houston and they can assist you.

4. Are there costs for WVCTSI services? There are fees for some services and resources including a clinical trials registration fee and research data services fees. Learn more at the links provided.
